More than 500 cooperative members joined the Colored Fun Walk organized by the Provincial Cooperative Development Council (PCDC) and Youth Volunteers of the Camarines Norte Federation of Cooperatives (CaNoFeCo). It kicked off the Provincial Celebration of 2019 Cooperative Month with the theme “Cooperativism: A Countervailing Force Against Climate Change and Violent Extremism Through People Empowerment to Trailblaze Shift in Paradigm Towards Sustainability & Social Inclusion.”
The fun walk started at the front of Provincial Capitol going to Bagasbas Beach. Splash of colored liquid catch the participants surprisingly, staining their white shirt.
Upon arrival at the beach, a Zumba exercise followed, then a competition on laro ng lahi was conducted. Coop members from the different MCDCs of the province battled for the win in kadang-kadang, sack race and tug of war.
The activity aims to promote camaraderie among fellow cooperators and to increase awareness of the community especially the youth regarding cooperativism and its role in economic development.
