Provincial Agricultural Engineering Division under OPAg spearheaded the conduct of provincial forum on the registration of all agriculture and fishery machineries whether availed from government agencies/institutions as grant or with counterpart or acquired as private property among 12 municipalities. This has also become the venue for clarifications and comments attended and participated by the Municipal Treasurers and Municipal Agriculturists. The activity was held at Audio Visual Room on the 22nd day of February 2019 and attended by local government units.
Questions, comments and issues were raised by the attendees and clarifications were answered by the resource persons. DA thrusts and priorities on mechanization was clearly presented by the Acting BAFE Director, Engr. Cristy Cecilia P. Polido at the same time, showing the level of mechanization of the province to be low especially in land preparation and harvesting of crops (rice, corn and vegetables). On the other hand, Engr. Janice P. Vargas, OIC-Chief of SRED discussed the existing and proposed regulations on mechanization. She also gave details on the type of machinery and equipment to be registered, process of registration as well as the benefits of having the machineries registered.
Right after the open forum and since the attendees have no further concern aside from the copy of the regulations and guidelines to be sent thru email, the forum was dismissed and ended around 5 in the afternoon.
Implementation on the registration of agriculture and fishery machineries will soon be conducted; meanwhile the local government units are still waiting for the finalization of the guidelines and the conduct of training for personnel who will handle the registration process.
