SCoPSA held for Corn Farmers on Sloping Areas

Last April 9-12, 2019 at Villa Mila Garden and Resort, Gahonon, Daet, Camarines Norte, Office of the Provincial Agriculturist assisted Agricultural Training Institute Regional Training Center V in the conduct of training on Sustainable Corn Production in Sloping Area (SCoPSA). OPAg also identified attendees from different municipalities planting on slope areas which come up to 25 farmer-participants; seven (7) of them were female and 18 male. Resource persons were staff from the said office who have the knowledge, skills and trained to discuss relevant topics namely Ms. Dulce D. Doriman, Mr. Ryan I. Villaflores and Mr. Ador T. Sanchez. From ATI RTC V, Mr. Edgardo Nacario, Regional Corn Focal Person gave the opening remarks and welcome the participants while Ms. Justine Rose Cano facilitated the said activity.

Aside from the collaboration of ATI, OPAg and MAO of San Vicente where actual field demonstration and hands-on activity were conducted, the eagerness of participants to gain knowledge and techniques in SCoPSA farming technology became the key to make their 4-days stay-in training successful. The participants completed the training with happiness and excitement that they have gain new knowledge and experience for them to share with other farmers.
